Our History

Our history

More than ninety years ago the wind of God’s Spirit blew, initially through just a few hearts … and then through more and more.

The Latter Rain Mission, hereafter called the Mission, grew from a small prayer group to a wide international organization. With humble gratitude, we reflect on this journey, and in the process we gain new inspiration for our future vision and for the journey ahead.

Among the distinguishing attributes of the Mission, was and is the members’ total commitment to Christ, submission to the Word of God and guidance of the Holy Spirit. Further attributes are the members’ wholehearted devotion to the will of God, as defined in the Bible, and a desire to strive to live an exemplary lifestyle. Female members may volunteer to wear the distinctive blue uniform.

During the past ninety years many things changed, while God’s instruction remained the same. This is, “the Great Commission”: “Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptising them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching then to observe all things that I have commanded you”.
